Voice Interface: FXO

 An FXO interface is like the port on a standard telephone

 An FXO interface can be used to connect PBX’s extension or PSTN

 Receive/Transport calls from and to a PBX or PSTN (Public Switched

Telephone Network)

 Requires a dial tone, ring indication, and call progress indicators that

are provided from PBX or PSTN switch

 Automate the operations (on-hook, off-hook) that are done manually

on a standard telephone
